New greenhouse constructions have begun!

On the 4th of June 2020 the constructions of our new greenhouse complex have begun in Woudrichem, municipality of Altena.

During the ceremony, Altena’s counsellor, Matthijs van Oosten, was present to mark the new beginning by ‘ceremonially watering’ one of the latest breeding breakthroughs in petunias: Petunia Galaxy Lilac. At the end of the ceremony, the participants were happy to take plants home to decorate their gardens and patios in Woudrichem.

Over the next few months, Schneider’s new production location and headquarters will gradually take shape. Greenhouse constructor KG Systems has finished soil preparations and now is ready to see the greenhouse construction actually going up.

Our production area in Altena will become three and a half hectares of state-of-the-art greenhouse (gutter height 6 metres, bay span width 12.80 metres), including a modern processing area hosting automated machines used for the production. Our goal is to ensure that the new greenhouse complex will minimise its environmental footprint with measures including smart lighting, screening, and cultivation techniques.

Drone video: a great deal of planning and soil preparation has already preceded it.
